Johnson Co. is the largest county in KS with a population of roughly 600,000 people. Since the start of this crisis:
* Just 244 have been hospitalized, with only 5 under age of 30;
* 89 deaths reported, with no deaths under age of 40.
But there was a ‘sudden rise’ in cases that emboldened the county to adopt the Governor’s statewide mask mandate.
