“What is the Illuminati conspiracy?”
The Illuminati conspiracy is a conspiracy theory which holds that there is a “global elite” society that is either in control of the world or is seeking to take control of the world. As with most conspiracy theories, beliefs regarding the Illuminati conspiracy vary widely. As a result, it is virtually impossible to give a synopsis of the Illuminati conspiracy. Popularized in recent books and movies, the Illuminati conspiracy has definitely reached “cult fiction” status.
If one were to attempt to summarize the Illuminati conspiracy, it would go something like this: The Illuminati began as a secret society under the direction of Jesuit priests. Later, a council of five men, one for each of the points on the pentagram, formed what was called “The Ancient and Illuminated Seers of Bavaria.” They were high order Luciferian Freemasons, thoroughly immersed in mysticism and Eastern mental disciplines, seeking to develop the super powers of the mind. Their alleged plan and purpose is world domination for their lord (who precisely this lord is varies widely). The Illuminati are alleged to be the primary motivational forces encouraging global governance, a one-world religious ethic, and centralized control of the world’s economic systems. Organizations such as the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the International Criminal Court are seen as tentacles of the Illuminati. According to the Illuminati conspiracy, the Illuminati are the driving force behind efforts to brainwash the gullible masses through thought control and manipulation of beliefs, through the press, the educational curriculum, and the political leadership of the nations.
The Illuminati supposedly have a private board of elite, interlocking delegates who control the world’s major banks. They create inflations, recessions, and depressions and manipulate the world markets, supporting certain leaders and coups and undermining others to achieve their overall goals. The supposed goal behind the Illuminati conspiracy is to create and then manage crises that will eventually convince the masses that globalism, with its centralized economic control and one-world religious ethic, is the necessary solution to the world’s woes. This structure, usually known as the “New World Order,” will, of course, be ruled by the Illuminati.
Does the Illuminati conspiracy have any basis from a Christian/biblical perspective? Perhaps. There are many end-times prophecies in the Bible that are interpreted by most to point to an end times one-world government, a one-world monetary system, and a one-world religion. Many Bible prophecy interpreters see this New World Order as being controlled by the Antichrist, the end-times false messia for the Christian, there is one fact that must be remembered: God has sovereignly allowed all these developments, and they are not outside of His overall plan. God is in control, not the Illuminati. No plan or scheme the Illuminati develop could in any way prevent, or even hinder, God’s sovereign plan for the world.
The Illuminati are nothing but pawns in the hands of Satan, tools to be manipulated in his conflict with God. The fate of the Illuminati will be the same as the fate of their lord, Satan/Lucifer, who will be cast into the lake of fire, to be tormented day and night, forever and ever (Revelation 20:10). In John 16:33 Jesus declared, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! “What is the New World Order?”
The New World Order is a conspiracy theory which posits a new period of history bringing about a major change in the world with the balance of world power. This New World Order is theorized by some to involve a group or groups of elitist people bent on ruling the world through a single worldwide system of government. The appeal of this New World Order lies in its proposal to free the world of wars and political strife, and its promises to eradicate poverty, disease, and hunger. Its purpose is to meet the needs and hopes of all mankind through worldwide peace.
Also labeled the new “era of globalization,” this New World Order will supposedly do away with the need for diverse world governments. This will be accomplished by the installation of a one-world political system or body. One means to achieve this is by eliminating all lines and borders demarcating the nations of the world. To effect all this change, it is believed that the New World Order will emphasize tolerance through the promotion and acceptance of other cultures and their values and ideologies. Its ultimate goal is a sense of unity and oneness with all people speaking the same language. Other objectives include the use of a single, world-wide currency, as well as oneness in politics, religion, and moral values. As a result, conspiracy theorists believe, the world will be under one rule, that of one government that promises worldwide peace, the absence of war, and the elimination of all political unrest.
Though it may be agreed that man needs hope in order to endure this life and have peace of mind, the problem lies in where man searches for such hope. The Scriptures are clear concerning all these things. As Christians, we are commanded to obey and respect those in authority, including our government. However, we can easily see that there are some severe consequences of such a New World Order, both from an economic and a religious standpoint (Romans 13:1-7; Acts 5:29).
The problem with the acceptance and approval of any New World Order is that no government has ever offered, nor will it ever offer, real hope and peace for mankind. When man turns to government to provide worldwide peace and hope, he becomes disillusioned and enslaved by its false promises. History has proven time and again that no quasi-world empire has ever survived, simply because of its innate flaws of greed, corruption, and quest for power.
Those who desire the ushering in of a New World Order, whether secular or religious, are in for a rude awakening. The truth is that false religious teachings cannot bring utopia into being, regardless of man’s creativity and ingenuity. Only heaven brings lasting peace and happiness. The Bible makes it very clear that all things associated with this life on earth with its sufferings, its decay, its discontent, and death will continue with this physical life (2 Corinthians 4:16; Hebrews 9:27). It is also clear that all these things are completely unknown in the heavenly city (Revelation 21:3-7 and Revelation 22). They will be done away with. Yes, hope is needed. But it is the hope of heaven we need, not the false hope of a New World Order. The one hope for all believers lies only in heaven (John 14:1-4). It is not here on this earth.

Do you want to know God?
Do you yearn to experience the Lord’s comforting presence, power, and wisdom? That’s good, because God loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you forever.
The problem is . . .
. . . one thing separates you from a relationship with God—sin. You and I sin whenever we fail to live by the Lord’s holy standard. In fact, Romans 3:23: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Furthermore, Romans 6:23 explains that the penalty for sin is death—separation from God in hell forever. No matter how hard we try, we cannot save ourselves or get rid of our sins. We can’t earn our way to heaven by being good, going to church, or being baptized (Eph. 2:8-9).
Understanding how helpless we are because of our sins, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to save us.
Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life, and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins (Rom. 5:8). Three days later, He rose from the dead—showing that He had triumphed over sin and death once and for all.
So how can you know God?
It all starts with accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ provides a relationship with the Father and eternal life through His death on the cross and resurrection (Rom. 5:10).
Romans 10:9 promises, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” If you have not yet begun your personal relationship with God, understand that the One who created you loves you no matter who you are or what you’ve done. He wants you to experience the profound depth of His care.
Therefore, tell God that you are willing to trust Him for salvation. You can tell Him in your own words or use this simple prayer:
Lord Jesus, I ask You to forgive my sins and save me from eternal separation from God. By faith, I accept Your work and death on the cross as sufficient payment for my sins. Thank You for providing the way for me to know You and to have a relationship with my heavenly Father. Through faith in You, I have eternal life. Thank You also for hearing my prayers and loving me unconditionally. Please give me the strength, wisdom, and determination to walk in the center of Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lesson 56: Why Christians Must be Fighters (Ephesians 6:12-13)
We all like peace. But the Bible is very clear that the Christian life, both individually and corporately, is a life of mortal combat with the spiritual forces of wickedness. Because this enemy never quits his attacks, Christians must learn to be fighters. To be unprepared against such an evil enemy or to run from the fight is to insure defeat. In our text, Paul explains why Christians must be fighters:

Who are the spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places?
Please explain the meaning of against principalities, against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness, in heavenly places, especially “heavenly places” another translation states “high places.” Who are the spiritual host of wickedness, in heavenly places, or high places?
The Answer:
The passage about which inquiry is made is Ephesians 6:12 – “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (KJV).
In this context Paul begins his discussion of the armor of God by encouraging the saints to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might (v. 10). In that strength and power, Paul admonishes the brethren to put on the whole armor of God that they may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil (v. 11). In verse 12, Paul discusses the nature of the enemy against whom Christians struggle and why they need the whole armor of God to be successful.
This is the only passage in Paul’s writings in which he explicitly speaks of Christians’ struggling against evil spirit powers. Its uniqueness has led some to say that the passage is an interpolation; however, there is no manuscript evidence for its omission. In fact, while not as explicit Paul lays the groundwork for this explicit statement in Eph. 1:20-23 where he tell us that Christ, at the right hand of God, is “far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.” The scope of the victory wrought in the resurrection and exaltation of Christ is made clear in the listing of these defeated cosmic powers. Colossians 1:16 and 2:10, 15 are related passages. Certainly, there has been much discussion over whether these powers are good, benign, or hostile. While it may be that an absolute answer is difficult, beyond doubt these powers (“all rule and all authority and power”) are among the enemies that Christ shall have put down at his coming. Eph. 6:12 makes certain that the powers mentioned there are evil. Eph. 2:2 does the same.
What then are these powers? In verse 11 Paul identifies the primary enemy as the Devil. Whatever the powers are they are of the Devil and thus have a personal center and commander-in-chief. Eph. 2:2 tells us that they have human beings through whom they are operative (“the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience”). Eph. 4:14 lists some of their activities directed at the church of the Lord. It is truly a battle or a “wrestling” match, but unlike the usual wrestling match where one can “lay hold” on the opponent, our opponent is spiritual in nature.
Thus, the evil powers here listed as opposing believers are subject to the devil, the prince of the power of the air. They include the principalities and authorities mentioned in Eph 1:21 KJV
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
was those over whom Christ rules both in this age and in the age to come. Because this age continues and Christians must live in it (John 17:15), these powers are still a threat. Among these powers are “the rulers of the darkness of this world,” a description that signifies the power and authority that they exercise over the world. In Matt. 4:8-9 the Devil took Jesus to an exceeding high mountain, showed him the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and promised to give them to Christ if he would bow down and worship Satan. Certainly Satan claimed ownership of the kingdoms of the world. These beings are also called “spiritual wickedness in high places.” Some assert that this expression was used to emphasize that our battle is spiritual and not against men (“flesh and blood”). Others think that Paul is really speaking of “wicked spirits.” The ASV translates it “the spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.”

Both understandings are scripturally correct. “Heavenly places” is the same word used in Ephesians 1:3, 20; 2:6; and 3:10. Some suggest that Paul is using the “layered” understanding of Heaven (he was called to the “third Heaven,” 2 Cor. 12:2) with God occupying the highest heaven and Satan and his minions the lowest. Others think that the term does not always mean the same thing and that the meaning must be understood from the context, thus concluding that, since it is the dwelling place of Satan, it cannot refer to the same location where the word is used elsewhere. There are other understandings but they are not supported by good rationale or scripture. Charles Hodge, in his commentary on Ephesians, concludes:
“The whole context, however, shows that the design of the apostle is to present the formidable character of our adversaries in the most impressive point of view. Others suppose that Paul means to refer to the former, and not to the present residence of these exalted beings. They are fallen angels, who once dwelt in heave. But his is obviously inconsistent with the nature meaning of his words. He speaks of them as in heaven. It is better to take the word heaven in a wised sense. It is very often used antithetically to the word earth. “Heaven and earth,” include the whole universe. All intelligent beings are terrestrial or celestial. Of the latter class some are good and some are bad, as of the angels some are holy and some are unholy. These principalities and potentates, these rulers and spirits of wickedness, are no earthly magnates, they belong to the order of celestial intelligences, and therefore are the more to be dreaded, and something more than human strength and earthly armour is required for the conflict to which the apostle refers.”
One thing is clear – the Christ is over all such powers of whatever nature. By his strength and power the victory can be ours as well. We ought not to become so involved in trying to figure out the minute details of who these beings are that we miss Paul’s real message – our opponents are such that the only way that we can hope for victory is by putting on the whole armor of God and taking advantage of the mighty power of God that he has put at our disposal.
